London-based Story mfg. takes a refreshingly slow approach to making clothes. Driven by an ethos that states how buying less is the only sustainable way to live, the brand seeks to make clothes that last and forgo the need to be repurchased over time. And should an item be discarded, the brand has this covered: all items are biodegradable, and will enrich soil once thrown away.

Story mfg. avoids the use of animal products and toxic chemicals, and makes a meticulous effort to meet every maker involved in production – enabling the brand to maintain a uniquely high standard of ethics.

Made from 100% organic cotton yarn that’s been hand-spun, then dyed with a natural bark dye before stamped and washed through mud. This produces a beautifully organic texture and inconsistent colouring. The hand-woven fabric is heavyweight but with a fluid, loose drape that’s soft to the touch.

The garment has a clean, simple appearance with a neat collar, self-finishing welt seams, and large front patch pockets that reach the double-fold hem. The corozo buttons are removable if you’d prefer to wear the jacket open.
